Fulfillment Services
Product assembly, kitting, picking, packing, shipping orders, administration of customer inquiries, management and storage of inventory, literature release and return processing are among the functions of fulfillment service providers. Fulfillment services deal with the organization of various production duties, such as material handling, inventory control, assembly and transportation, required to prepare a product for packaging and shipping. The term "fulfillment" can refer to a simple packing or hand assembly operation or it can also describe a complete turnkey process from importing to shipping a finished unit to the end customer.
Fulfillment service providers administer quality assurance to two sets of customers: manufacturers and end (destination) customers. Fulfillment service providers have the ability to import, unload, inventory, assemble and then drop goods and products to the destination. Products can be delivered to the consumer directly or to mass merchants, distribution centers, and retailers.
