Business executives and trade show exhibitors use catalog cases because they can conveniently store a variety of items and files in their various compartments. Some catalog cases even have small wheels attached to the bottom and an extendable handle on top so they can easily be pulled through an airport while traveling. Business executives prefer leather catalog cases because they fit with their professional appearance, but catalog cases are also made in several types of fabric. Some catalog cases are built with a hard exterior shell made of high grade plastic. The shell protects items inside from damage and makes the case easier to stack with other luggage.

Catalog Case Design and Customization

The inside of a catalog case is similar to a file folder, with several compartments separated by dividers. Zipper pockets and pouches are also included to hold smaller items, like pens or cell phones. Files, product samples, and a laptop computer can fit in the larger compartments. For a lawyer or salesperson traveling somewhere to make a presentation, a catalog case can be a very convenient luggage solution, in which they can keep all of their business materials in one place. Besides the extendable handle on the top of the case for pulling it along the ground, there is usually a built-in briefcase style handle, too, so that someone can easily pick up the case and carry it around. Specialized catalog cases are even manufactured with straps on the back so they can be worn like a backpack if someone is in a situation where they need to carry the case for a long time. One major benefit of a plastic catalog case is that it is waterproof, so any valuable contents inside are much less likely to be damaged.

Manufacturing Process of Catalog Cases

Catalog cases with a hard outer shell are typically manufactured using a plastic injection molding process. The heated plastic is injected into the mold that matches the dimensions of each panel of the case. After the mold cools and cures, the various parts are assembled. In the final stages of the production process, handles and clasps are added. These finishing parts can be made out of metal or the same kind of plastic used to construct the case.
