Portfolio Cases
A portfolio case is a large portable case that can be used to carry pieces of art, posters, and other large prints that would not fit in a standard file folder or briefcase. Keeping these items in a portfolio case keeps them from being damaged or wrinkled during transportation.

Applications of Portfolio Cases
The interior of a portfolio case has partitions that create separate areas so multiple pieces of paper or art can be added without rubbing against each other. This helps to prevent ink or paint from wearing off. Small executive portfolio cases for notepads usually have a slot of loose papers and files. Files can be stored securely in the slot, but they are also easy to reach when someone needs to pull them out in the middle of a meeting. Salespeople, executives, artists, and marketers all use portfolio cases on a daily basis to help present and organize their business and creative files.
Another type of case used to hold a notepad, pens, and business cards is also sometimes referred to as a portfolio case. This is usually made out of leather and may have the owner’s name or business name engraved on the front. These types of portfolio cases are used by professionals, like lawyers and businesspeople, to take notes at meetings or store small amounts of files.
Portfolio Case Design and Customization
Portfolio cases that are used for artwork usually have a briefcase style handle on the top, and they sometimes have a shoulder strap attachment. If soft materials like leather or a woven fabric are used to create the case, then it is usually sealed with a zipper or straps. However, some cases are made using hard materials to create a stiff outer shell that can protect delicate contents inside.
When a casing made out of materials, like aluminum or plastic, is used, the portfolio case is shaped like a box with a lid that opens partially or all of the way. The lid can be tightly closed using the metal clasps attached to the case. Some plastic portfolio cases are designed to be airtight and waterproof so that valuable artwork can be placed in them and transported without the owner having to worry about any possibility of damage.
