Water Pressure Switch
A water pressure switch measures and/or regulates water pressure in correlation with pumps. Water pressure switches are devices that sense changes in pressure and responds, according to its pre-determined set point, with pressure fluctuations. Water pressure switches can come in many forms, including sensors, chips, transducers, meters, gauges, or controllers. Depending on the application, a water pressure switch may be set to a certain point of pressure or actuation point to which it will automatically respond.
Water pressure switches have a variety of uses in many different industries. Because they are designed to handle various water-based situations, they are useful for filters, wastewater applications, water treatment, pipelines, pumps, and more. For example, many pumps are equipped with built-in water pressure switches, allowing them to automatically turn on when water system pressure drops and shut down when pressure reaches the cut-off level. Water pressure switches are specifically designed for alarm, shutdown, and control of many processes and equipment, and thus work well in electronics, piping, fluid extraction from wells, and other instances in which regulation or measurement of flow is required.
