Well Pumps Industry Information

Well Pumps

Well pumps help move water from an underground water source through pipes leading to another location within a home or business.

Quick links to Well Pumps Information

Design of Well Pumps

Well water pumps contain a motor, which spins a blade. This blade creates suction and draws the water into the pipes. It then pushes the water through the pipes and into the building. From there, a pressure tank helps to distribute the water to all areas of the building.

Well pumps come with various amounts of horsepower. A greater amount of horsepower is needed for longer distances and larger amounts of flow. Also, well pumps supplying flow to more than one location will need to have more horsepower.

Types of Well Pumps

There are two types of well pumps: shallow well and deep well. Well pumps come in a variety of offerings: hand water pumps, solar well pumps, jet pumps and submersible pumps. Knowing the depth of the water table is another important factor in choosing the proper well pump for water abstraction needs.
