Reasons to choose pneumatic conveying systems for frac sands: • Pneumatic conveying systems offer far more flexibility than mechanical conveying systems. • Air Assists injectors in the convey line keep the sand moving while preventing clogging in the lines. • You can expand your capabilities without expanding your plant’s footprint....

  • How Do Pneumatic Conveyors Work?

Pneumatic conveyor manufacturers create a variety of pneumatic systems for a variety of transportation methods. In general, a pneumatic conveyor is designed to move lightweight material quickly from one place to another without hassle or a large amount of space. It is common to see these conveyor systems used with grains and other loose material as well as lighter manufactured items, like plastic bottles and containers. Most pneumatic conveyor manufacturers use a similar design for their machines, which help move the materials quickly without clogging or other problems. A typical...

  • 5 Benefits of Pneumatic Conveyors

The expensive cost of pneumatic conveying systems prevents many factories and transportation companies from implementing them into their everyday factory productions. However, this can be a disadvantage. There are many excellent benefits to pneumatic conveyors that make them an excellent choice for transporting materials quickly from one place to another. Before writing off a pneumatic conveyor immediately, consider the following benefits of this effective conveyance system: Controlled dust: All dust associated with moving a loose material from one place to another is contained inside the conveyor tubes. This prevents the...

  • Bulk Up: Heavy Duty Bulk Conveyors

Bulk conveyors are designed to carry large amounts of material from one place to another. Often, they are used to transport raw materials, like rocks, sand, or other heavy, raw materials. Depending on the conveyor, some bulk conveyors are constructed for light duty and the transportation of lighter and less abrasive items, while others are used for transporting the heaviest and most abrasive materials available. Since one of the first uses for bulk conveyors was in the mining industry, mining companies to this day use large conveyors for transporting heavy...

Pneumatic Conveying Systems

Pneumatic conveying systems offer companies an effective means by which their products can be moved without the risk of product damage, spilling or other hazards. In agricultural settings, pneumatic conveying systems can be used for the safe, effective and sanitary transportation of harvested material like grain and corn. In oil refinement and other petrochemical-related processes, hazardous materials can sometimes be moved through pneumatic equipment more safely than they can by other means. Bank drive-throughs often make use of pneumatic conveyor systems; a combination of compressors and vacuum pumps move containers back and forth between tellers and customers, which makes transactions quick and easy.

Pneumatic conveying systems require several components in order to function, and these components vary depending on each system’s configuration. There are two main pneumatic conveyor configurations: dilute phase and dense phase. Dilute phase conveyors force a stream or air or use a high-power vacuum to suspend objects in the air and move them through a channel. Dilute phase conveyors are often used for the transportation of fine powders and other collections of very small objects. Dense phase conveyors use air streams or high-power vacuums to move objects as well, but they are not diluted by air or suspended in the channel. This method is used for the transportation of larger, more cohesive objects. In order to generate the air pressures necessary to move solid objects, pneumatic conveying systems must be equipped with powerful air compressors and high-power vacuum generating equipment. Their channels must also be air-tight to ensure the sustainability of air pressure. Because pneumatic conveyors use air pressures instead of mechanical force, they can be used to move products between floors, around awkward corners and in other ways that would be impossible for mechanical conveyors. This is true of both dilute and dense phase conveyors.
