Brewery Tube and Hose Design and Customization
To best serve customer needs, manufacturers can make brew tubes using a number of different plastics.
Common brewery hose varieties include:
- Vinyl Tubing
- Reinforced Vinyl Tubing
- Silicone Tubing
Each type offers something different. Vinyl tubing, for example, is very inexpensive and easy to find. Its downsides are that it only really works with low temperatures, and it tends to cure at the end. Silicone tubing, on the other hand, can handle temperatures upwards of 500 degrees fahrenheit. In addition to varying materials, manufacturers also offer brewery hoses in varying sizes. They offer not only different lengths, but different tube widths and tube wall thicknesses. Different thicknesses offer different options for your brewing applications, like liquid transfer, siphoning, and aeration. For example, while it takes longer to transfer liquid through a thin tube, thin tubing also permits the creation of fewer air bubbles. To help you keep your lines organized and reduce the risk of accidental cross-contamination, manufacturers can send you brew tubing with different colors and labeling.
