Plate and Frame Heat Exchangers
Plate and frame heat exchangers transfer heat from one liquid to another through corrugated plates, fastened together and mounted on a frame. They are used for moderate pressure and temperature demands. Within plate and frame heat exchangers, hot and cold fluids run separate from each other in different chambers. This heat exchanger design has a low installation cost and a long life.
Plate and frame heat exchangers expose fluids to a larger surface area than traditional heat exchangers. This feature provides the advantage of quick temperature changes that cannot be achieved in other designs. Plate and frame heat exchangers are used in heating, cooling, and refrigeration processes, to name a few.
