Hydraulic Gear Pump
A hydraulic gear pump uses intermeshing spur gears to displace fluid in liquid transfer applications. These pumps are most commonly used to supply hydraulic power to different mechanisms. They can pump viscous fluids, like grease, without complications from increased friction.
There are two common types of hydraulic gear pumps: external gear pumps and internal gear pumps. External gear pumps have two spur gears that are located on the exterior. Internal gear pumps also have two spur gears, but one is located on the exterior and one is located in the interior. Both kinds of gear pumps supply a regular amount of liquid for every rotation of the gears.
Hydraulic gear pumps can replace electric motors in many mechanisms. They take up less room and provide reliable power. Hydraulic gear pumps are used in the automotive, agricultural, construction, military, and manufacturing industries.
