Potrans Electrical Corporation (PEC) was established in Taipei, Taiwan in 1976. The name "Potrans" is an acronym for POwer TRANSformers, the company's primary business in the beginning. Not long after its inception, Potrans diversified its core transformer business and introduced a new line of linear adapters. The new product line would prove to truly compliment the existing transformer business, as Potrans began to experience great success within their respected market.
