Corrugated containers are also popular in homes and in non-industrial places of business such as in retail centers and office buildings. In all of the contexts in which corrugated containers are used, they can be referred to as cartons, boxes, totes, carriers and all kinds of other names. The word "carton" is often used specifically in reference to smaller containers, particularly those that are used for the storage or shipment of food items. They can be made out of brown cardboard, white cardboard, plastic and a number of other materials.
