In 1981, our founder, Tom Hobby, opened up this business not because car washes were common and he wanted to cash in, but because he envisioned a future that featured car washing not as a consumer chore, but as a service provided by small businesses with eco-friendly machines. Hobby started AUTEC out of his basement. Today, headquartered in North Carolina, our company provides customers with state-of-the-art car wash systems (including glass enclosures), car wash parts and accessories, car wash training, and support for buyers.
