Zero Static Tee Valves
Zero static tee valves are specially designed tee valves. A tee valve is
a pipefitting that joins one pipe run to another that runs in one direction
perpendicular to the main run. The "T" shape results in the term "tee
valve". This traditional style tee valve results in substantial deadlegs,
or segments of pipe without flow, where material stagnates. A zero static tee
valve is a new approach to tee valves, in that zero static valves have the
valve weir (the notch through which material flows) located flush against the
interior of the pipe. This placement of the weir results in full flow thru
all areas of the pipe without any stagnation.
Zero static tee valves may be constructed in various sizes, and from a variety
of materials including metals and plastics. Applications for the valves are
varied and include: drinking water treatment, sea water desalination, process
water for energy production, water purification for swimming areas, drainage
water treatment, sewage treatment plants, high-purity water production for
the semi-conductor industry and water processing for the pharmaceutical industry
(up to water-for-injection quality).
