Tungsten plate is a flat piece of tungsten metal which has
been pressed from a powder form into a plate. In producing tungsten plate,
mined tungsten ore is ground into fine powder, and pure tungsten is separated
from other materials in the ore. This finely ground pure tungsten powder may
be molded with high heat and pressure into bar form.
Tungsten suppliers may use hot or cold rolling machines to roll tungsten
bars or tungsten powder into sheet form. These sheets may be as thin as 0.001 inches
or as thick as 5 inches. Width of the sheets varies from 6 inches to 24 inches
