Rubber Grommets

Rubber grommets are rubber rings that are inserted into a hole in another material. Rubber grommets may be used to reinforce the hole or to shield something from the sharp edges of the hole. One of the most common uses of rubber grommets and plastic grommets is to shield holes made in metal. Rubber grommets prevent cords, wires, and other soft materials from being cut when passing through the hole. Some rubber grommets have more than one hole to allow two wires to pass through separately. Rubber grommets are also used in computer and electronic applications. They may be used in conjunction with screws to reduce vibrations from computer case fans, disk drives, and similar parts.
