Resealable Plastic Bags
Resealable plastic bags are those that have an interlocking zipper lock that creates a waterproof and airtight seal. Their most popular application is in food and leftover storage, but they can organize and store just about any item, including hygiene products, jewelry supplies and office supplies. Resealable plastic bags are inexpensive and reusable, and therefore more durable than regular disposable plastic bags. They are mostly made out of polypropylene because it is transparent, waterproof, static free and non toxic. Resealable bags come in many different sizes-anything small enough to hold a pair of earrings or large enough to hold an entire turkey.
Reusable bags that have zipper locks provide seals that are superior to heat sealing because they can be used more than once, and seal better than using twist ties, which do not provide an airtight or waterproof seal. Zipper lock bags either have interlocking sides that are each a different color (blue and red) that, when sealed, become another color (purple), or a plastic slider that seals the bag as it runs across the open top. Some resealable plastic bags have an adhesive backing and are flat and large enough to hold documents. They are meant to stick to large envelopes. Often, resealable plastic bags are sold in large quantities, and are rarely if never sold in packs smaller than ten.
