Press Rebuilders
Press rebuilders are companies that focus on rebuilding metal presses. Utilizing press rebuilders is often an economical decision, as a company can usually have two or more presses rebuilt for the price of one new press. Rebuilding also often has a shorter lead-time than buying new. Rebuilding is needed when the press starts running slowly or sloppily and, as a result, production falters.
After being rebuilt, the press comes back in a new-like state. Unlike brand new units, however, a rebuilt press is already set up for the applications that the owning company requires. Using a rebuilt press also does not require employees to be trained on new procedures and protocol, as the press will still function in the same manner as before it was rebuilt.
Press rebuilders often offer annual inspection services so that companies can be aware of the status of their machine and when it should be rebuilt. The rebuilding process usually takes anywhere from eight to twelve weeks.
When a press is ready to be rebuilt, the rebuilder will send workers to pick up and disassemble the press. All components of the machine will be checked, cleaned, and, if necessary, replaced. Once these steps are completed, the press will be painted, polished, reassembled, and delivered back to the owner of the press.
