Portable heaters, also known as space heaters, are the ultimate in efficient heating because they can be moved around to heat only the area that needs to be heated. They can be located near a desk, workstation, or other area that is in need of additional heat. Some portable heaters are specially constructed to provide spot heating in an outdoor environment.
Portable infrared heaters generate radiant energy that is converted to heat when it is absorbed by an object. Once people, objects, and/or the floor absorb energy, it is then re-radiated, heating the air. These heaters heat the objects around them rather than the air between. Infrared portable heaters can attach to a propane tank, sit in a cart with wheels, or have handles to ease carrying them. These heaters do not remove oxygen or humidity from a room, so they are good for smaller areas. Because of the way they generate heat, in addition to their mobility, portable infrared heaters are more efficient than other types of heaters.
Infrared portable heaters can be used almost anywhere. They can be used outdoors and indoors, in homes, workshops, factories, garages, and many other places. They are safe from fire, overheating, and carbon monoxide leaks. Portable heaters can be run by electricity, gas, propane, or ceramic elements.
