Plastic Bottles
Some of the most common products made from the process of blow molding are plastic bottles. Because of the versatility of blow molding, plastic bottles can be formed into many different shapes and sizes from many different plastic materials. Plastic bottles can be formed from polypropylene, polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and are used for innumerable purposes.
Things that plastic bottles are used for include holding beverages such as juice, water, milk and soft drinks, or holding household cleaners, dish detergent and toilet bowl cleaner. They can also be used for cosmetics such as lotion, perfume, hair spray, gel, shampoo, etc. Even pet products, automotive appearance products and lawn care supplies come in blow molded plastic bottles.
Not only are plastic bottles indispensable in the industrial, cleaning, automotive and other industries, but they are recyclable and can be formed into a multitude of other products. Items that recycled plastic bottles can be turned into are park benches, packaging, sleeping bags, fences, drainage pipes, electrical fittings and even clothing.
