Many varieties can also remove bags from pallets and place them on conveyor systems. The technology and equipment used in bag palletizers is very similar to other palletizing systems. In fact, some bag palletizers are capable of lifting and moving materials other than bags. For example, before bags are placed on a pallet, palletizers are often used to place a baseboard or other material above the pallet surface to provide traction or cushioning before the pallet is loaded. Bag palletizers can be expensive in terms of initial investment, but long term gains in productivity and the elimination of worker injury often negate the expense.
