Bag Palletizers

Bag palletizers are industrial loaders that are used to neatly and quickly stack bags onto pallets in advance of shipment or storage. Bag palletizers are an invaluable asset to large scale manufacturers and distributors that deal in large quantities of bag-sealed materials. Such large bags of materials can be very heavy, and consistent lifting and placement of heavy materials can be a health hazard for workers.

Bag Palletizers

Palletizing machines reduce the opportunities for strain-induced worker injury. Instead, they offer efficient materials handling free of occupational hazards when properly installed and operated. They are also very useful in the handling and stacking of materials that become deformed if improperly handled; this is one other way in which bag palletizers are superior to humans in terms of materials handling. Large bags of granular materials like sugar or cement, for example, can lose their shape or even break open if their weight is not distributed when lifted. Bag palletizers can carefully and quickly lift such materials without the risk of bag puncturing or other problems that could lead to product loss. Many bag palletizers also can perform as depalletizers, placing materials as well as removing them.

Bag palletizers are the solution to the challenge of moving, stacking and storing large quantities of bagged products. A modular design makes bag palletizer systems easy to transfer, set up and fit into existing packaging lines. Also, some bag palletizers are capable of lifting multiple bag layers in a single arm movement; this can greatly increase output and operational efficiency. Many different kinds of bag palletizer configurations are available to suit the many different kinds of manufacturing and distribution environments throughout industry. Almost every bag palletizer is completely automated, capable of functioning largely unsupervised for extended periods of time. They can be placed between packaging conveyors and loading docks, removing bags from conveying systems and placing them on pallets for shipment. Many varieties can also remove bags from pallets and place them on conveyor systems. The technology and equipment used in bag palletizers is very similar to other palletizing systems. In fact, some bag palletizers are capable of lifting and moving materials other than bags. For example, before bags are placed on a pallet, palletizers are often used to place a baseboard or other material above the pallet surface to provide traction or cushioning before the pallet is loaded. Bag palletizers can be expensive in terms of initial investment, but long term gains in productivity and the elimination of worker injury often negate the expense.
