Packaging Design
Packaging design includes the various factors considered when preparing and packaging a product. Cost-effective and "awe" factors are important considerations in package design. With such a wide variety of packages available to utilize in packaging, such as blister packs, bags, boxes, clamshell packaging, envelopes, header cards, outer wrap, point-of-purchase displays, and tubes, packaging design can be an important decision. As a result, prudent collaboration between manufacturer and package designer is crucial.
Packaging design can serve many functions for a particular product. It can keep the product sealed and damage-free during transportation. On the other hand, packaging the product so it is noticed among other items on a shelf can be as important as the product's performance. Advertising copy and distinctive design elements regarding color, graphics and shape are important features in packaging design. The type, structure, and fragility of the product also affects its packaging design.
