Folding Boxes
Folding boxes may be constructed from a variety of materials, but are most
commonly seen as cardboard or corrugated
boxes. Folding boxes are perforated,
cut and pleated by machines such as die-cutters, allowing them to be folded
into a box.
Folding boxes are normally shipped flat, and folded into a box shape once
they reach their destination. Folding boxes have ends that overlap each other,
thus sealing the box. The box can be folded, taken apart and refolded numerous
times. Boxes are available in hundreds of sizes and shapes.
Folding boxes, especially those made from cardboard or corrugated paperboard
are popular because they offer versatility, lower weight and take up less storage
space because they can be flattened. Paper-pulp based folding boxes can be
recycled and are often composed primarily of recycled materials.
