Flat Plate Heat Exchangers
Flat plate heat exchangers use flat, corrugated plates that are mounted on a frame and fastened together in order to transfer heat. They are designed so that the flows of hot and cool liquids run counter to each other and are used when temperature and pressure demands are moderate. Flat plate heat exchangers are relatively small in size but offer high performance and design flexibility. Due to their high heat transfer coefficients, flat plate heat exchangers provide versatility and reliability for applications. Low installation costs, low fouling rates, and long lives also contribute to the appeal of flat plate heat exchangers.
Flat plate heat exchangers are used for a wide range of applications. Besides use in heating, cooling, refrigeration, hydronic, steam and industrial processes, flat plate heat exchangers are also found in equipment such as process equipment, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. Models are also commonly installed in several other residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
