Electric Coils/

Custom Coils

Custom made electric coils are an essential component in solenoid valves, transformers, transducers, circuits, electric motors and many electronic household appliances, providing either movement or electric current transformation. Made from conductive metal wire wrapped into a specific diameter, electric coils are electromagnets, which are only activated to magnetism when introduced to an electrical current.

Custom Coils

There are many types of electric coils with different wire gauges, wire lengths, coil diameter & materials around which the wire is wound. All of these specifications can be customized to meet the particular demands of a wide range of applications requiring coils. A few examples are molded coils, inductors, transducers, encapsulated coils, impregnated coils and air coils. The basic premise of any electrical coil is that it is one piece of a bigger part or machine, like an engine or a power generator. The coil's role is to store energy around itself like a magnetic field, connecting the power supply to the part of that machine that initiates action. Every custom coil must have a metallic core, whether ferromagnetic or non-conductive, made of iron or steel or a couple other elements. It must also be wrapped in thin conductive wire, which is usually copper. Coils are vital to many industrial machines, many of them in high demand in the medical field, automotive field, industrial machining, power generator manufacturing and the electronic and agriculture industries. If a machine is being used, a coil is almost always necessary.

Since electric coils have such a broad range of applications, coil products are manufactured in an exhaustive list of shapes, sizes and functions. As new ways to harness electromagnetic energy arise in various industries, electric coils are required to have different features than traditional solenoid valves or coils, transformer coils and sensors. Custom coil manufacturers provide solutions to virtually any electromagnetic application, changing features such as coil length, diameter, wire gauge and material, coil form and encapsulation to achieve different levels of current transformation, precision timing and force. Potted coils, toroidal coils and transformers are made in a wide spectrum of sizes, shapes and specifications for transforming outdoor lighting, electricity generation for nuclear plants, motion generation for automobiles and an endless list of other possible applications. Custom coils are important components for growing new technology as well as equipment and devices that are already well-established in the industrial and consumer markets.
