DIN Connectors
DIN connectors, or Deutsche Industrie Normen connectors, are rounded multi-pin connectors. DIN connectors are circular connectors that have several pins that direct the orientation in which the connector is plugged into. In general, DIN connectors have between three and eight pins arranged inside the round metal shield. DIN connects are often used for audio transmission in speakers, subwoofers, and radios.
S-video connections a common type of DIN connector. S-video is an abbreviation for separate-video, which refers to the way that the data carries brightness and color separately instead of in one signal, like composite video. S-video connections usually use DIN connectors with four-pin configurations and are used in televisions, DVD plates, VCRs, and video game consoles.
