IQS Newsroom Articles on Corrugated Cartons
Corrugated Carton
Corrugated cartons are constructed from paper pulp-based material known as
paperboard. The paperboard has an inner fluted (pleated) sheet which adds strength
and impact resistance. Corrugated cartons are used in a number of commercial
and industrial applications.
Corrugated cartons come in a number of sizes, from 4 x 4 x 4 to very large
sizes such as 48 x 48 x 48. They can be dyed, decaled with logos and printed
to convey messages and warnings. Corrugated cartons are stronger and more durable
than cardboard containers. The cartons may be used multiple times, and can
be recycled once they have served their purpose. They are also composed primarily
of recycled materials, making them environmentally-friendly.
Corrugated cartons are also lighter weight and less costly than other types
of containers. Corrugated cartons have a few disadvantages as well: they can
break down if exposed to moisture and they aren't as safe to stack as
plastic containers. Overall, as industry looks for more cost-efficient, environmentally-safe
and versatile storage and shipping products, corrugated cartons will be in
high demand.
