Endless belts, also referred to as round belts, o-ring belts or endless drive belts, are continuous belts made from materials similar to that of o-rings. They are called endless belts because they have no splice or seam. Endless round belts come in woven and non-woven varieties.

Endless Belting
Endless belts typically have a considerably longer life expectancy than twisted connectable belts. Examples for uses of endless belts include power transmission applications and live roller conveyors (lineshaft conveyors and powered roller conveyors are examples of live roller conveyors). Endless belts can also be used in a wide variety of industrial process equipment. Industrial endless belts can be found in lathes, metal spinning machines, air compressors, pneumatic tools, polishing machines and in many other kinds of machinery. Endless belts can come in many shapes and sizes. Flat endless belts can be used in conveyor systems, such as those found on assembly lines or in grocery stores. Round endless belts are more likely to be used in industrial equipment. In cases where a standard endless belt is not appropriate, specialty endless belting can be custom designed by belt manufacturers.
Endless belts are available in variety of materials; rubber, plastic and even metal can be used for the construction of endless belting. European-style knitted endless belts are available in neoprene, polyurethane (sometimes erroneously referred to as urethane) and silicone. Each material offers different qualities of strength, elasticity, chemical resistance and temperature tolerance. Neoprene endless belts are very flexible and are perfect for fast, strong drives. They also boast antistatic properties, which can be favorable in highly technical or sensitive industrial processing applications. Polyurethane endless round belts do not require a belt tensioner and are designed to stretch. This elasticity allows polyurethane belts to sustain prolonged wear without suffering degradation. Silicone endless belts can be used in wet or dry environments. Also, because silicone is resistant to exposure to extreme temperatures, silicone endless belts can be a good choice when prolonged exposure to very high or low temperatures is likely. Because endless belts are such an important part of so many industrial processes, they are available in many configurations from a wide variety of manufacturers and suppliers. This diversity of sources insures that the right endless belting equipment can be found for any application.
