Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are built to be below ground, as their motor and pump assembly are submerged in water or other fluid sources. A submersible pump has a hermetically sealed motor close-coupled to the pump body to seal it from the surrounding liquid.

Industry Information

Submersible Pumps

The key advantages of submersible pumps are that, in a large installation, there is a significant reduction in the amount of concrete required to build the reservoir since a separate dry-well is not required and that these pumps can provide a significant lifting force as they do not rely on external air pressure to lift the fluid. Submersible pumps are almost always used to pump water.

Submersible pumps serve many useful purposes. Applications in industrial objectives, residential settings, municipal situations and for irrigation are all possible for submersible pumps. Single stage submersible pumps are used for drainage, sewage pumping, general industrial pumping and slurry pumping. Multiple stage submersible pumps, on the other hand, are typically lowered down a borehole and used for abstracting water or in wells.
