Brown Cardboard Boxes
Brown cardboard boxes are made from a paper pulp-based material and are normally
at least 0.010 inches thick or more. Brown cardboard boxes differ from corrugated
boxes because cardboard does not have the fluted (pleated) paper reinforcement
between its outer layers. Brown cardboard is the most common color, although
cardboard may also come in white, mottled brown or dyed colors.
Cardboard boxes have been used since the late 1800's for storage and
shipping for industrial and commercial use. Common brown cardboard boxes can
be seen every day-from our cereal box to boxes made for shipping and mailing.
Cardboard boxes can normally be taken apart, folded and flattened to take up
less storage space than other boxes.
Brown cardboard boxes are receiving recognition today as a more environmentally-friendly
product than other types of boxes. These boxes can be made from sustainable
sources, and can be recycled. Most brown cardboard boxes are composed mostly
of recycled material.
