Ductless air conditioning is the perfect middle ground between the through-the-wall air conditioner varieties and the central air conditioner varieties. In a ductless air conditioner, an outside unit with the compressor is mounted on an exterior wall, while an inside unit with the evaporator is mounted on an interior wall or ceiling. Although not particularly aesthetically pleasing, air conditioning units are common enough that their presence is not an eye-sore in a home, office or store. A certain temperature is maintained because of alarms that are set within the air conditioning system to go off when the room hits a certain temperature, then initiating the system to return the room's temperature to what was set on the thermostat.
